Here at
Keystone Dustless Mobile Media Blasting LLC, we provide the latest, most efficient, eco-friendly methods for
surface preparation and cleaning:
Removal of paint, rust, stains, mold, grease, graffiti, dirt, and grime from metal, concrete, wood, tile, brick, masonry, stone, and fiberglass surfaces.
To achieve these amazing results, we use the best equipment in the industry—official Dustless Blasting® equipment. Using official Dustless Blasting® equipment allows us to use a variety of different media: garnet, recycled bottle glass, glass beads, blast sand, sugar sand, coal slag, copper slag, sodium bicarbonate, walnut shell, and corn cob. With some of these media, we can even dry blast surfaces. This wide array of media gives us the ability to blast many different surfaces, from steel to delicate pool tiles!
Another characteristic of our services that sets us apart from traditional blasting methods is the fact that we are MOBILE. There are no lugging items around to get them blasted because we come to you. When we arrive at your site, we arrive with everything we need to get the job done, even our own water, if necessary.
Finally, the fact that we use Dustless Blasting® methods means there is much less dust and mess than traditional dry blasting, meaning there is a lot less clean-up required. To give an example, if someone were to dry blast a car on the midfield logo at Heinz Field, every single one of the 68,400 seats in that stadium would have dust on it. Dustless Blasting® that same car in the same location would result in clean-up being confined to the midfield logo!
Official Dustless Blasting® equipment, the many different types of media, the fact that we are mobile, the small amount of clean-up all add up to one thing—getting the best blasting results possible. Then add in our expertise, our attention to detail, and our emphasis on customer service, and you get the best surface preparation service in Western Pennsylvania with Keystone Dustless Mobile Blasting! There are four basic types, and each one has its benefits.
Let's start with the cleanest standard, which is the White Metal Blast. Metal with this level of cleanliness is free of all visible paint, rust, mill scale, stains, and foreign matter. It is completely clean, bare metal. Though it's called a white metal blast, clean steel will be grey. This level is necessary for some advanced coatings that are exposed to harsh corrosive environments such as refineries and offshore drilling platforms. It's also favored for auto bodies and antique restoration.
A Near White Metal blast is similar to the white metal blast, except some staining on the metal is allowed. This surface should be at least 95% bare metal.
This type of blast is important — it's at least 2/3 bare, clean metal. Some tightly adhering coatings can stay because if they can survive the blasting, they're not going to come off. This is the most common type of blast for commercial work, like metal stairwells, fire hydrants, machinery, etc.
This type of blast is often used when a rust converter coating is applied and for surfaces that do not need to be completely smooth (e.g. undercarriage, some heavy equipment, etc.).
Remember, knowing the correct level of cleanliness to use can save you time and money. Don't waste time and money on a White Metal blast when a Commercial blast is all you need. Contact
